StudioLive Series III - Setting up USB audio playback from Pro Tools to Tape Inputs or DIG RET

Before proceeding please be sure your firmware is updated on your StudioLive and that you are using the latest Universal Control:

IMPORTANT: Firstly you must be using a version of Pro Tools that allows 64x64 USB audio when using non AVID hardware. Please contact AVID if you are unsure of the version you are using. If you are limited to 32x32 USB audio then you need to send your audio back into the mixer within the 32 channels. 

 

To send audio from Pro Tools to the Tape Inputs on a StudioLive Series III console

  1. Create a Master Fader in Pro Tools
  2. Then select the Output and change this to "Channel 37-38 (Stereo)" or if you are using a StudioLive 64s Series III select "Channel 64-64"
  3. Then any audio passing to the Master fader will be sent to your Tape InputsScreenshot_2022-01-10_at_14.54.26.png

This will send any audio that is coming into the Master to the Tape Inputs on the Series III console.

To send audio Pro Tools to the DIG RET on a StudioLive Series III Rack Mixer

  1. Create a Master Fader in Pro Tools
  2. Then select the Output and change this to "Channel 37-38 (Stereo)"
  3. Then any audio passing to the Master fader will be sent to your DIG RETScreenshot_2022-01-10_at_14.54.26.png

This will send any audio that is coming into the Master to the DIG RET on the Series III rack.
