***If you are running Studio One version 3, and you have installed the Fall Creators Update for Windows 10, you will need to upgrade to version 3.5.6 or higher.
If you are running Studio One version 2, you will want to try creating a new user profile on your computer that is not tied to a Microsoft account or email address, log into that account, and test for the issue there.
Below are some troubleshooting tips for less common issues with the activation.
1. Disabling a network card. If you disable a network card, the mac address for that card is no longer visible to the system and can cause Studio One to ask you to activate each time you reboot. Rather than disabling the network card, you may want to unplug the Ethernet cable or disconnect from your wireless network.
2. VPN software can also cause this issue. If you have any 3rd-party VPN software installed on your system, please try uninstalling it. You may need to activate once more after uninstalling, but should resolve the issue after rebooting the machine.
3. Changes in your computer's hardware can also require that you re-activate Studio One.
4. Follow the steps in the following article to completely remove any PreSonus credentials from your system.

5. Networking issues can also create a problem in this scenario. Please try disabling any 3rd-party software firewalls, connect directly to your modem, thus bypassing any 3rd-party networking equipment, and test for the issue once more. On a few rare occasions, we have seen a failing modem create this issue. If you are able to narrow it down to a failing modem, you will want to contact your ISP to have it swapped out. The failing modem is very rare for this problem, but we have seen it happen.
6. Remove the user.license file from your machine and remove the activation for that computer from your my.presonus.com account. You can then activate again. Here are instructions for Windows and Mac respectively:
Windows:
a. Open Studio One and go to Help>Open Settings folder. Close Studio One with the settings folder open. Delete the user.license file out of the settings folder and keep Studio One closed.
b. Go into C:\ProgramData\PreSonus\Studio One 3 and delete the user.license file there. Program Data is a hidden folder, so you will need to show hidden files and folders on your system to be able to see it. Here is an article from Microsoft that explains this process.
