Revelator: Distorted Audio in Voice-Chat Applications

We have found that most voice-chat applications have "auto-gain" turned on by default. This can interfere with your Revelator causing the microphone to become distorted.  Below shows how to disable auto-gain in various applications. 

Discord

Windows:
User Settings>Voice & video> uncheck "Automatically determine input sensitivity" (Shown below)

Mac:
User Settings>Voice & video> uncheck "Automatically determine input sensitivity"

Google Meet

Both Mac and Windows users should install this extension to disable auto gain in Google Meet/Hangouts.
Disable Automatic Gain Control Extension

 

 

Slack

Windows:
File>Preferences>Audio & video> uncheck "Enable automatic gain control"

Mac:
Slack>Preferences>Audio & video> uncheck "Enable automatic gain control" (Shown below)

Skype

Windows:
Settings>Audio & video> uncheck "Automatically adjust microphone settings"

Mac:
Skype>Audio & Video Settings> uncheck "Automatically adjust microphone settings" (Shown below)

Zoom

Windows:
Settings>Audio> uncheck "Automatically adjust microphone input"


Mac:
Zoom>Preferences> Audio> uncheck "Automatically adjust microphone input" (Shown below)
