StudioLive 16.0.2 USB - Windows and Mac System Audio Playback Setup

Before proceeding, you will need to be sure that Universal Control is installed on your computer.

Universal Control installs the audio drivers necessary for your PreSonus product(s).

Setting channels to USB input on the StudioLive

For the StudioLive's input-channels to receive audio via USB, you will need to engage USB input-type on the desired channels.

By default, Mac will return Audio to channels 1 and 2 on the StudioLive.

With the Universal Control 4.0.0 update, Windows Users can return audio to channels 13/14 or 15/16 of the StudioLive.

  1. Press the USB button on the left side of the StudioLive.
  2. Engage USB for Input Channels using the Numbered buttons above each channel.

Windows 10 PC Setup

To arrange System Audio playback in Windows:

  1. Right click the speaker in the right corner of the System tray.
  2. Choose "Open Sound Settings"
  3. Choose the "StudioLive Ch 13/14" or "StudioLive Ch 15/16 "as your Output and Input Sound devices.
  4. Once the corresponding channels of the StudioLive are set to USB input type, system-audio should pass through these channels.

Apple Mac Setup

To arrange System Audio playback for Mac:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Choose "Sound"
  3. Choose the Input tab and select "StudioLive 16.0.2 USB"
  4. Choose the Output tab and select "StudioLive 16.0.2 USB"
  5. By default, Mac will return audio to inputs 1/2 of the StudioLive. This can be changed in Audio MIDI Setup. (Found in Applications > Utilities > AudioMIDISetup > StudioLive > Output > Configure Speakers)
  6. Once the corresponding channels of the StudioLive are set to USB input type, system-audio should pass through these channels.
