Auxes will only output input channels.
A Matrix will output a mix of output channels.
Series III Matrix mixes allow for Input and Output channels to be mixed to a physical output.
There a multiple reasons for creating a Matrix mix, and often is used for mirroring an output to another physical output with separate DSP and Volume control.
Here are a few use-case examples:
- Adding a Subwoofer with full-range signal from the Mains with separate EQ and Volume control.
- Adding near/front field speakers
- Broadcasting a copy of the Mains with separate DSP
- Mirroring one Aux Mix to another physical output.
- Add the Main Mix into a Monitor mix for performers on-stage.
- Busing the Mains to additional rooms such as a cry-room or foyer.
