You can then select Universal Control v5 for your computer.

Please note you can also obtain the latest firmware here for all products in the StudioLive Eco System. This is handy if you are not the owner of the products and do not have access to them in a my.presonus account

The StudioLive mixers, this will cover.

  • StudioLive 64S
  • StudioLive 16SE *
  • StudioLive 24SE *
  • StudioLive 32SE *
  • StudioLive 32S
  • StudioLive 32SX
  • StudioLive 32SC
  • StudioLive 32
  • StudioLive 24
  • StudioLive 16
  • StudioLive 32r
  • StudioLive 24r
  • StudioLive 16r

*The StudioLive SE models come with v3 firmware which is not Milan certified and requires an update. This is explained here,

When connected to a computer via USB you can use the following method to update. Click on the "Check for updates" button on the top right. This feature is called the Batch Updater

Screenshot 2025-08-06 at 09.47.15.png

This will check for an update for you and then allow you to proceed by clicking "Update Now" check box and then pressing the "Update All" button.

Please note, this will only work if your StudioLive is registered in your account. If you are presented with an error, then please review this link.

Once completed, your mixer will reboot and possible complete a fader calibration, which is normal.

DO NOT STOP THIS PROCESS

You can then us the Batch Updater to update all your other StudioLive variants.

Please note if you get an error message Update Failed, it simply means the unit has been updated.

Another method is the drag and dropping of the firmware file or the network update.

Drag and Drop:

There are 2 areas that you drag and drop the file,

1: The settings tab on the bottom left where it shows version info

2: The image of the mixer on the home page of Universal Control

Network Update.

When in the settings screen on Universal Control, on the bottom left you will see a "Check Firmware" button, that will also do it but only if the mixer is registered to your account.

The last update method is via an SD card which can be found explained here,

Q: Do I need to update me SW5E?

A: No, v1.5.0.92382 for the SW5E is already Milan certified.

Q: How do I update my NSB and EarMix?

A: You can use the Batch Updater

In order to have your NSB or EarMix show up on Universal Control your products must be connected to the computer via a networked connection, this process has been the same since these products where released.

They will not show if only a USB connection is present from the StudioLive console/rack even if the StudioLive is connected to them. They can not be updated from the StudioLive console or rack.

Once done, your products will show up like this,

You can then simply update them via the Batch Updater by clicking the "Check for Updates" button on the top right,

Then tick the boxes and then click "Update All".

Its important to note

  • The StudioLive console needs a control port connection or a USB connection to appear
    • It will not show if only a audio networking port is connected
  • The NSB, EarMix and SW5E need a audio networking port connection to appear

The above picture has a 32r audio networking and control network connection to the SW5E and the NSB is also connected to the SW5E. If I remove the USB or Control Port connection, the StudioLive will be removed.

This will update everything that is connected.

If you have a large eco system, simply network in a computer and you can use the above to update all items that are displayed.

Q: How do I update my AVB-D16

A: We are aware of an issue for some customers in using Universal Control v4 to complete this. You can use HIVE which is a AVB controller.

  • Download the firmware file
  • Unzip the file
  • Open Hive ATDECC Controller
    • Link: HIVE
    • Click the “Device Firmware Update” button at the top of the window
    • In the window that appears select the AVB-D16
  • Select “Choose Firmware File”
  • Choose the “xmosbrooklynbridgeimage.bin” file and select “Open”
    • Select “Start”
  •  Hive should display a message saying the firmware update was successful

This screenshot shows the “Device Firmware Update” button location in Hive
