ATOM SQ: How to setup up as a generic MIDI controller in Studio One 4

Published July 22, 2020

While Studio One 5 has built in Native integration with ATOM SQ, that doesn’t mean the device cannot be used with Studio One 4. To set up ATOM SQ as a generic MIDI Keyboard in Studio One 4 follow these steps:

    • Ensure that ATOM SQ is connected to your computer via USB cable
    • Open Studio One 4
    • Open Studio One’s Options/Preferences menu depending on whether you’re on PC or Mac.
      • On Windows click Studio One from the task bar and then click Options
      • On Mac click Studio One from the task bar then click Preferences
    • Click External Devices
    • Click Add
    • Click New Keyboard
    • Click Receive From dropdown in the MIDI Channels menu
    • Select ATM SQ
      • Do not use ATM SQ Control
    • Click Send To dropdown in the MIDI Channels menu
    • Select ATM SQ
      • Do not use ATM SQ Control
    • Click OK
    • ATOM SQ will now send MIDI and CC commands to Studio One 4.
