Studio One 6: Why am I not able to record after upgrading to Mojave or higher?

With the release of Mojave, Apple increased macOS security to disable the use of the microphone unless expressed permission is given to an app. This is true for Catalina and all future macOS releases as well.

You may receive an error message in Studio One stating - "Studio One would like to access the microphone." To resolve the issue, please go into your System Preferences.

  1. Open Security & Privacy, select the Privacy tab.
  2. Select Microphone in the list on the left.
  3. Please a checkmark beside Studio One in the list of apps that are allowed to use the microphone.

For more information on the features in macOS, please take a look at the following pages from Apple.
