Version 7.2 introduced using efficiency cores on Apple Arm (Apple Silicon) processors

Version 7.2 introduced using efficiency cores on Apple Arm (Apple Silicon) processors. This is active by default and can be disabled in Preferences/Audio Setup/Processing/'Use efficiency cores'.
Using the efficiency cores typically will offer a performance advantage, but in some scenarios may cause performance issues.  Such scenarios can be:
  •  low device buffers (64 samples or lower)
  •  lots of background applications/processes
  •  running Studio One in the background

If you run into such issues, consider disabling efficiency cores and/or use higher device buffers.
