Version 7.2 introduced using efficiency cores on Apple Arm (Apple Silicon) processors. This is active by default and can be disabled in Preferences/Audio Setup/Processing/'Use efficiency cores'.
Using the efficiency cores typically will offer a performance advantage, but in some scenarios may cause performance issues. Such scenarios can be:
- low device buffers (64 samples or lower)
- lots of background applications/processes
- running Studio One in the background
If you run into such issues, consider disabling efficiency cores and/or use higher device buffers.
