Certain functionality of the RM front panel buttons has been implemented since the RM Series Mixers were first released to facilitate standard functionality, however new features and improvements drove the necessity to utilize these buttons for more than just their original intended functions. This article is intended to serve as a guide for all functions that can be controlled from the RM front panel buttons.
Standard Button Functions (while mixer is powered on)
Meters +48V Button
Single button press - When this button is pressed and released, it toggles the LEDs between displaying input signal and channels which have phantom power engaged. When this button is not engaged, it does not illuminate and channel LEDs will display input signal (green for signal / red for clip). When this button is engaged, it will illuminate amber and all RM channels LEDs with phantom power engaged will light amber.
Momentary hold - When this button is held, it will illuminate amber and all LEDs will display channels with phantom power engaged. Once the button is released, it no longer illuminates and LEDs will once again display input signal.
Mute All Button
Single button press - When this button is pressed and released, it toggles mute on/off for all RM channels. When this button is engaged, it illuminates red and all RM channels Mute. When this button is not engaged, it does not illuminate and no RM channels are muted.
Momentary hold - When this button is held, it will illuminate red and all RM channels will be muted. When this button is released, it no longer illuminates and no RM channels are muted.
Main Button
Single button press - When this button is pressed and released, it toggles Main Headphone Monitor on/off. When engaged, it illuminates amber and the RM Main Mix routes to the Headphone Out. When this button is not engaged, it does not illuminate and the Main Mix is not routed to the Headphone Out.
Momentary hold - When this button is held, the RM Main Mix is temporarily routed to the Headphone Out. When this button is released, the Main Mix is no longer routed to the Headphone Out.
Cue Button
Single button press - When this button is pressed and released, it toggles Cue Headphone Monitor on/off. When engaged, it illuminates amber and the RM Cue Mix routes to the Headphone Out. When this button is not engaged, it does not illuminate and the Cue Mix is not routed to the Headphone Out.
Momentary hold - When this button is held, the RM Cue Mix is temporarily routed to the Headphone Out. When this button is released, the Cue Mix is no longer routed to the Headphone Out.
Additional Button Functions (hold during mixer boot)
Combination -
Meters +48V Button & Main Button
Hold down both the +48V meters button and the Main headphone source button for 12 seconds while booting the mixer. This will reset the passcode to the default 12345.
IP Mode Switching -
Cue Button
Hold down the Cue source button while booting the mixer to switch to Dynamic IP mode. For this mode to initialize, the Cue button must continue to be held from the moment the mixer is powered on until all channel LEDs illuminate green (RM32 Pictured):
Main Button
Hold down the Main source button while booting the mixer to switch to Self-assigned Static IP mode. For this mode to initialize, the Main button must continue to be held from the moment the mixer is powered on until all channel LEDs illuminate red (RM16 Pictured):
