Why does my Studio One Crash on startup with 10.7.X and above? - "Hardware Integration Hang"

Why does my Studio One Crash on startup with 10.7 & 10.8 - "Hardware Integration Hang"
 
Studio One and Universal Control are very tightly integrated.  We provide this integration as a means for Universal Control to change sample rate in the program and the program to change UC's sample rate very easily.  With this, there is certain files that were created in 10.7 and 10.8 that Studio One needs to have installed properly or Studio One will load and crash after the beginning prompt says "Hardware Integration."
 
If this is happening to you, there are two things you need to make sure you have installed:
 
1.  Install the latest version of Universal Control from our website.
2.  Install the latest version of Studio One from the website.
 
Once you have done these two things above, Studio One (once started with the mixer properly connected) will see the mixer properly and the program will start up properly.  Here are the instructions below to do this:

1.  Make sure to manually remove any drivers prior before updating:

2.  Find your device's downloads page below and download and install the version of Universal Control for your Operating System:

Installing Studio One:
 
The newest version is always hosted on our website, in the "My Software" section of your registration homepage.
 
1.  To update the latest version of Studio One, go to www.presonus.com/registration and login to your account.
 
2.  Go to "My Software".
 
3.  Below Studio One, you'll see a list of downloads. You'll want to download the installer for Mac.(Download "Studio One for OSX" from the downloads section of the appropriate Studio One software)
 
4.  Open the .dmg file that was downloaded and drag and drop the Studio One Icon in the applications folder.
 
5.  Activate the software Online and put in your Username and Password and product key in the appropriate fields.
 
6.  Click Activate
 
7.  When going to the Content installation, use the selection "Install from Presonus User Account."
