UPDATE: July 21, 2014 - The updated release AudioBox 1.3 Series Driver for Mac OS X and Windows are ready.
We had discovered that Apple made a fundamental design change in their release of computers including the iMac series 14,1 and 14,2 (late model 2013), Apple MacBook Air 6,2 (late model 2013) MacBook Pro (11,1 - 13"::11,2 - 15" :: 11, 3 - 15 ") (released October 22, 2013) and Mac Pro 6,1 (released late 2013) are incompatible with PreSonus AudioBox VSL-series products. As of January 2014, latest-generation Mac Minis (late 2012, 6,X series) were not affected by this issue.
AudioBox 22VSL & 44VSL: As of the second to last week of April 2014 we have learned that the incompatibility issue with USB 3.0 on Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9, 10.9.1, and 10.9.2 late model MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac and Mac Pro systems released in late 2013 is an issue with Apple's USB 3.0 device driver. We have tested and confirmed that this distortion issue is resolved as of Mac OS X 10.9.3 and higher. Mac OS X 10.10 works as well.
AudioBox 1818VSL: The aforementioned MacBook Pro, iMac, MacBook Air and Mac Pro models will not work with the AudioBox 1818VSL must have AudioBox 1.3 update installed in order for it to work. No previous AudioBox Release (1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, or 1.2.2) will allow proper functionality with VSL software installed or in class-compliant mode with no VSL software installed. You must have AudioBox 1.3 installed to guarantee proper operation.
Or through your http://my.presonus.com account. Your AudioBox VSL will need to be registered, through which you will be able to obtain the drivers.
We have tested and qualified that all of our other products including software products such as Studio One and Capture along with Hardware products including AudioBox USB, StudioLive 2442, 1642, 1602, StudioLive 32AI, 24AI, 16AI, RM32AI, RM16AI, FireStudio Mobile, FireStudio Project, FaderPort all work with these computers as expected.
Note: Drivers can be uninstalled on a Mac using the process in the link below:
